The Hoshizaki FM series produce flake ice, however these units are capable of being converted to a Nugget ice machine by changing the extruding head and cutter. The flake ice is popular for a variety of cooling purposes including the display of fish, fresh produce and in the medical world for cooling blood and organs. The nugget ice may be used in hospitals, the agricultural field or even in hospitality for cocktails and drinks.
The characteristics of the ice produced by the FM series means that “freeze-burn” is no longer an issue when displaying fish or produce.
Carbon Auger bearings are used within this range and they are far more robust than roller bearings, enhancing product life expectancy and also reducing maintenance costs.
